Jay says

One of the finest coffees in the world is this amazing coffee from Indonesia. It’s dark roasted for that early wake up call or for that early important meeting. The taste is very rich and chocolaty, and I find it to be very creamy in taste. A full-bodied coffee which gives the ultimate lift.”

Permato Gayo manages all aspects of production, for consistency and quality. The focus is on guaranteeing traceability through the whole supply chain. The Galling-Basah process is unique to Sumatra and results in a deep blue or green hue to the raw coffee. This creates a special cupping profile. The process involves three steps, depending on moisture content. ‘Gabah’ is when wet parchment coffee is dried immediately and hulled. ‘Labu’ is for wet green beans at about 30-40 per cent humidity. The third step is ‘Assalan’, exported at 12-13 per cent humidity. The coffee is grown at altitudes between 1,200m and 1,600m high in the north west of Sumatra. It’s one any enthusiast would want to get their hands on. Simply choose your grind type, add to basket for a superb freshly roasted coffee…
